15 Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas
It’s the second week of Christmas which means it’s time for some last minute Kris Kringle gifts. But before you reach for that generic photo album, here are 15 other last minute Christmas gift ideas that will surely make someone’s day.
1. Phone Case
Where to buy: Wasteland MNL
Give them something they’ll actually use. We’ve made a list of the best places to buy phone cases from so you won’t have to scour the internet for the best one. The best part is that most of these cases were designed by young Filipino artists so you’ll be supporting local products! Some of the shops in this list, like Wasteland MNL, sell non-iPhone cases too!
Where to buy: H&M, Forever 21
Earrings are simple and dainty gifts that you can personalize for your Kris Kringle. Give a unicorn pair to your most unique friend, or some chandelier earrings to your classy blockmate. Forever 21 and H&M usually release holiday-themed accessories this time of the month!
3. Fancy Mug
Where to buy: Typo
Don’t give them the basic mug. Give them a fancy mug that reflects their personality. Maybe give a mug that’s big enough to be a bowl for that friend of yours whose main energy source is coffee.
4. Care Box
Where to buy: Your nearest convenience store
When in doubt, give them a care box of their favorite chocolates and snacks! It’s one of the quickest and easiest ways to customize a gift. You just have to head over to your nearest convenience store, get a random Christmas gift bag, and write a short sweet note.
5. Personalized Bracelet
Where to buy: The Bead Shop
But if you do have time to get something customized, try the hand stamped bracelets at The Bead Shop. You just have to visit a kiosk to choose the bracelet and wait a few days to get your customized order. Super simple but a really sweet gift!
6. Beauty Basics
Where to buy: Department store, Watsons
This is a lot similar to the idea of a care package but this time with beauty products. And yes, beauty products can get expensive, but you really just have to give them three things – an eyebrow pencil with a spoolie, a nice red lipstick, and foundation or skincare. And there are a bunch of 500-peso makeup challenges on YouTube to get ideas from.
7. Gift Cards or Gift Certificates
Where to buy: Your chosen store
Most stores nowadays carry gift cards for one obvious reasons – to be given as gifts. So save yourself from the hassle of trying to figure out what they want and just get them gift certificates from the brands and good places they love. Still clueless? Starbucks GCs are good and so are Sodexo gift certificates.
8. Miniso In-Ear Earphones
Where to buy: Miniso
High quality earphones for less than P300? Miniso has the perfect one for you. This retails for P299, from the last time we checked, and are as good as any of those “branded” earphones.
9. Starbucks Tumblers
Where to buy: Your nearest Starbucks
Now that Starbucks released their very festive Christmas line and a limited edition mug that can only be found in one branch, Starbucks merchandise have been quite the choice for some people compared to the tumblers you see in the department store. Most in the 2017 holiday line won’t come back ever, so now’s the perfect time to get your fam or special someone one of these.
Bonus Trick: Try Starbucks Reserve branches. There are merch there that aren’t found in your regular Starbucks branch.
Where to buy: Etude House, TonyMoly, Althea, BeautyMNL, Shopee
Skincare isn’t just for women. Everyone deserves good skin.
11. Artwork T-Shirt
Where to buy: Artwork
There’s an Artwork T-Shirt for everyone.
12. Papemelroti Planners
Where to buy: Papemelroti
There will always be a special place in our hearts for Papemelroti. It’s a local brand that sells accessories, house decor, and super cheap notebooks 100% made out of recycled paper. Each planner is priced at P20 while their notebooks and notepads can range from P16 – P28. Real cheap for bulk buying!
13. Bullet Journal

Bullet journals are great ways to exercise one’s creativity while staying organized. Our top pics? Where to Next, Juan Hugot Away, and the Community Journal. We’ve also rounded up the best planners for 2018 made by local brands in this list:
We recommend: The Jesuit Guide to Almost Everything
Okay so it might be a little broad if we just tell you to buy any book you think they’d like so we recommended one for your 20-something friend. Great for people of all religions, this book is a rather in-depth discussion of what the Jesuit order is all about. Let’s just say it’s a lot of accepting change and doing all things with love. And on that note, we also recommend reading Smaller and Smaller Circles.
I’ve never been devout, much to the dismay of my parents (bless those two honeybuns). To this day I have a laundry list of reasons why with I struggle with embracing Catholicism. I do, however, love the Jesuits and practical Ignatian spirituality for a modern audience, as offered by this book, sounds like something I can ease into. 🌱
15. Desk Items
Where to buy: Department Store
For the officemate or parent whose work desk needs a revamp, try the department store. Fake plants and succulents are great, so are cute acrylic organizers. I also know a friend who knows a friend who has a spice rack on their desk. Yes, with actual spices.
