Lili Reinhart and Camila Mendes, both popularly known stars in the American teen drama TV series Riverdale, recently called out Cosmopolitan Philippines for photoshopping their waists on an Instagram post.

On International Women’s Day, Lili Reinhart updated her Instagram stories with a series of text posts about the movement of women towards body positivity. However, despite all the efforts towards this, many events still prove that the fight continues.

Reinhart then followed these text posts with pictures comparing the photos of the shoot they did with Cosmopolitan U.S. last February and the photos posted on the Cosmopolitan Philippines Instagram account.

“I’m not interested in having a slimmer waist, I’m more than satisfied with the one that I already have,” Camila Mendes wrote.

Mendes also posted a shorter series of Instagram Stories text posts referring to the same issue.

“We want their [Cosmopolitan Philippines] readers to know that those bodies are not ours; they have been distorted from their natural beauty. We prefer to see our bodies the way they actually are,” Mendes wrote. She confidently told her followers that she ‘is not interested in a slimmer waist’ and that she is ‘more than satisfied’ with the body she already has.

Mendes further stated, “Let it be known that the original spread in [Cosmopolitan U.S.] included our natural silhouettes, and we’re relieved that they didn’t see our waistlines as something that needed tweaking.’

Reinhart concluded by encouraging celebrities and public figures to stop editing body parts, creating unrealistic body images.
