Gary Valenciano recovers from successful bypass heart surgery
On Sunday May 6, Gary Valenciano underwent bypass heart surgery after being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He is currently recuperating well after a successful surgery.
Type 1 diabetes left his left anterior descending artery 95% blocked and its walls thin. Despite these conditions, Valenciano told Inquirer that his doctor found his heart still strong and in good condition, “I have a good, strong heart. The doctors are amazed. My heart and all its blood vessels, with the exception of one, are miraculously in excellent condition. Surprising after 39 years of Type 1 Diabetes.”
He and his family remained positive, with Gary even posting on his Instagram account a quote from the Bible before he underwent the operation.
Gab Valenciano, Gary’s son, also went on Instagram to post on his Stories saying a simple “Thank you, Lord” after a successful surgery. On his Instagram Stories, Gab shared his father’s official statement. It read of how positive he is that he will recuperate soon telling his fans and followers, “Do not worry please, only pray – I have an expert team of gifted doctors, some of them have taken great care of me for many, many years now.”
This statement from Gary Valenciano also noted how being active ‘has never been [a] problem’. It’s those moments of feeling tired and weary despite having a full day of rest, as well as chest pains, that prompted him to seek treatment. He is very thankful that he was able to do so before the disease progressed.
