When J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published 20 years ago, she did not expect it would sell over 450 million copies and gain thousands of fans. As the years went by, her series became widely loved films and a significant part of the millennial’s life.
Now on its 20th anniversary, on October 20 of this year, the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibit will open at the British Library in London. This will feature pages from J.K. Rowling’s own manuscript, rare copies of the Harry Potter series, and many more surprises. As of date, the Harry Potter exhibit will only be in London, but plans to bring it to New York as well by 2018.

In line with this, two new Harry Potter books will be published – Harry Potter: A History of Magic — The Book of the Exhibition and Harry Potter — A Journey Through a History of Magic. Both books won’t continue the story of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, but will be an in depth explanation of the classes in Hogwarts, as well as ancient witchcraft and alchemy. They are set to be released by October 20 according to the British Library Shop, but you can pre-order them now. International shipping available!
If you happen to find yourself in New York next year, make sure to catch the Broadway premiere of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Tickets will be sold as early as October 18, 2017 and show dates start March 2018. But hurry! Before you can avail of a ticket, you have to register first.
